Cons of Owning Your Property!
Property is something that we dream about owning when we don't have any, and worry about maintaining, when we do. This dream of owning property is multicultural and pervades all walks of life. Leave school, get a good job and earn enough money to put down a deposit on a house and property, and then spend the next 30 years paying it off! This is regarded as the correct way for any mature responsible adult to proceed through life, together with the 1.5 children somewhere along the way. If you can pull it off without too much drama and worry then great, but more and more people are finding that it has become very much the impossible dream.
Becoming the owner of a property brings about a real change in a person, that is unless one has been in the fortunate position of not having to borrow from the bank to do it. Mortgages can almost be a life sentence. You have a commitment to pay so much for your property per month for more years than it is possible to imagine. A good part of an adult life will go by while paying for this property. But at least at the end of the day, the property will eventually be yours and hopefully worth a great deal more than what you have paid for it during all these years. The security of having a paid for property heading into retirement can not be taken lightly.
Buying property takes a lot of courage. One needs to do one's homework and buy when the price is right. The way that property prices fluctuate means that this is not always easy to do. It is so much easier for someone that is interested in the property market and who regularly follows the sales. They will know a bargain, will recognize market signs and are far less liable to make an expensive mistake. The novice property buyer often needs to take advice from property agents and it is questionable whether this information will represent the best interests of the buyer. In this case it would be more than likely the seller of the property.
There is a lot involved when purchasing a property, but fortunately there is much help around providing one is prepared to search a little to find it. There are consumer organizations structured to help first time property buyers, providing information illustrating the steps that they should follow. Providing these steps are followed there should not be too many problems. Obtaining the finance is usually the hold-up of most property sales, and getting this organized can take ages with many frustrating days and sleepless nights.
Even though it is a huge commitment, there is still something rather nice about owning your own little piece of property. Something that is yours, that you can really call home, and something that you may eventually want to hand on down to your children. Family properties are becoming somewhat of a rarity these days, being confined to either rural communities or the super rich. It is a little sad to see a loved property having to be sold after belonging to the same family for many years.
Often younger members don't have the attachment to their family property, or would find living their inconvenient with their present circumstances.
